Charity is a young girl in rural Kenya who was born with Spina Bifida. Charity's spinal cord was deformed at birth, and she has no feeling below her waist. Charity has suffered recently with high fevers and infections due to gaping wound sores and an unrepaired broken leg bone. Her parents fear for her life but have no way to pay for urgently needed surgeries to repair the broken leg and close the wound sores. Volunteer Nurse Practioner Lucy Garbus saw Charity at her home and has been leading the effort to raise funds to cover the cost of Charity's care.
